News of the day 023

Where I played in all threes sets on Saturday night, the Roving Imp has announced the move to Lawrence, and I only left the house to buy ice on Sunday, when the temperature was 100 degrees Fahrenheit, which was fine for where Bowyer picks up his first win of the year, “Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.”

Quivira Road construction update: Significant lane closures start July 2
“Starting at 8:30 a.m. Monday, July 2, northbound Quivira Road will be reduced to one lane for as many as 20 days.

The two outside lanes of northbound Quivira will be closed, leaving a single lane open from 119th Street to College Boulevard.

The JCCC main Quivira Road entrance will remain open during this time, and drivers will be able to make a left-hand turn to enter the college campus from Quivira. However, drivers coming to JCCC from the south should expect significant delays and consider an alternative route to campus: 119th Street to Pflumm Road, north on Pflumm to College Boulevard and east on College to one of the College Boulevard entrances.

In addition, drivers making a left hand turn out of the JCCC Quivira Road entrance onto the single open lane of northbound Quivira should expect significant delays.

JCCC students, employees and guests leaving the campus are urged to use the College Boulevard exits when leaving campus.

  • Drivers who park on the east side of campus, including those who use the east exit of the Parking Garage at Galileo’s Garden, are urged to use the east College Boulevard exit at Oakmont.
  • Drivers who park on the west side of campus, including those who use the south exit of the Parking Garage at Galileo’s Garden, are urged to use the west College Boulevard exit at Westgate.
Finally, drivers will not be able to access neighborhoods east of Quivira Road between 119th Street and College Boulevard from Quivira Road while the lanes are closed.”
I saw an ad on Facebook that said, “If you liked Donnie Darko ...”

The preview for Branded reminded me more of some inappropriate humor (i.e., NSFW) from Puella Magi Madoka Magica than Donnie Darko, to which S. Darko: A Donnie Darko Tale had finally been made, which I instantly watched on Netflix instead of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman on The Hub last night.
