Stale Zaniness 060

Monday, ‘Dana & Parks’ found out ‘Ravens kicker Justin Tucker started his press conference with an up dog joke,’ so they called their boss and Bill Grady and heard as excepted, ‘What’s up dog?’
“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever! (1 Chronicles 16:34)”
Fortunately, that kept me rolling, which I needed after I heard about the Campus Attack at Ohio State University.

She’s been trying to get me to respond to Messenger, which is not where any conversation with her is headed, ‘Do you remember how we were all worried when your sister died?’ Pretty soon it’ll be about her and her problems, and insulting me again; yeah, phishing is prohibited here, you expletive.
I went offline quickly to finish Episode VI: It’s a Trap (Episode aired 22 May 2011)

Need to red dress some Issues

Print what you like, the temperature  overnight was around 50 degrees, so I had the fan in my room on in order to sleep. I sometimes wake up for short periods and somewhere between 6 this morning and 9 this morning, I had similar dreams
  • The first dream was sometime before 6 this morning where everywhere I turned at home I was month by neighbors I didn’t even know I had, and I was not able to dial the emergency number because the phone menu was suddenly incomprehensible
  • The second dream I had to repeat a numerical sequence, but I don’t remember the context
  • Finally, I was in a class where I was required to not use puns to write a creative work inspired by faith, and I was given a word of advice which I can only conclude an acronym- - R.I.O.T it out
“Instead of your shame, there shall be a double portion;
instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot;
therefore in their land, (Isaiah 61:7)
they shall possess a double portion;
they shall have everlasting joy.”

Whirlwind weekend 032

While I might not discuss politics on Facebook,
I was visiting my friend Josh two weeks ago and we did.
He’d seen a segment on ‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’ about the presidential candidates in the Libertarian Party and the Green Party; he didn’t really like Clinton or Trump, but he didn’t like the alternatives either, so he chose not to vote.

Mentally I could only respond, “That is a lucid, intelligent, well-thought-out objection.” Yesterday, I treated my father and sister to Chinese lunch, which the little I made Sunday can offset, yet with diminishing returns I don’t want to work at the new pizza place.
“And calling the crowd to him with his disciples,
he said to them, ‘If anyone would come after me,
let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
For whoever would save his life will lose it, (Mark 8:34-35)
but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.’”

Bringing down the Landslide, part 5

The title of this post is only somewhat deceptive, unlike the electoral subterfuge currently underway, and I-I mean the opposite of what is expressed by Stevie Nicks; I do not intend to let a landslide of emotion Bring Me Down, but rather to take down or counter such effects.
I get weak when you’re next to me, and when I haven’t eaten enough. I observed how critical this was on Monday. Seriously, some days I’ll have something at 11 or noon and then not substantial until probably 6 o’clock or later when my lunch break is at work.

Gobbled up 1/2 price single-patty Cheeseburgers Tuesday at Sonic Drive-In, twice actually before work. I did all right Wednesday because people brought things to celebrate our manager’s birthday. Evening on Thanksgiving, I could only go to bed.
From a book by Susan Jacoby on anti-intellectualism,
Video culture has triumphed over print culture,” I once read on audio cd.
Friday is the day trash is collected in my neighborhood, and-and Thanksgiving has delayed this until Saturday. I take the trash out at 2 in the morning so I don’t have to at 6 in the morning, and today I was awake at 5 in the morning because I watched YouTube.
I have to be sure I am well liked,
a primary motivator for my adoption of these rules,
so I talk no politics on Facebook:
Equestria Girls - Fluttershy

  1. Politics is not considered polite conversation.
  2. I do not know enough about the issues to discuss them calmly or avoid ad hominem.
  3. I am on the opposite side of the debate on most issues.
  4. I do not like being wrong or being made a fool.
  5. I would rather keep friends and be respectful.
I am recovering from some minor embarrassment.
There was a video shared to Facebook about how to evaluate a story, whether or not it is fake news. I saw the video and the very next day I shared a fake story to Twitter, which I admitted to my friend who had shared with a fake story and the video.
Can we say the power of mainstream media is diminished when I see friends concerned
Stories being put forth by the mainstream media whose power was certainly diminished when Clinton was defeated, huh?

Into Harmony’s Way

Before my father, sister and I arrived, there were the mother, and the father, their son, and their daughter and her husband. And their grandparents joined us later.
“Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways and be wise.
Like the Christmas after my mother passed, I figured we would be joining friends who we knew from church, but I didn’t know they were who usually sit behind us.

The wonderful Thanksgiving feast featured turkey, corn, mashed potatoes, gravy, banana slices suspended in red gelatin colloid, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, sliced pumpkin bread, dinner rolls and stuffing.
she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in the harvest.
I could tell you when Pete Rose was suspended from baseball because he was mentioned in a 1986 feature film, which starred Drew Barrymore and was sold at McDonald’s, called ‘Babes in Toyland,’ where they talk a lot about Cincinnati, Ohio.
How long will you lie there, O sluggard?
When will you arise from your sleep?
We played ‘Wits & Wagers.’ Five teams of two played; my sister and their mother formed one team, their son-in-law read the questions and teamed up with their grandfather.
A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest,
Their grandmother and daughter were good when they guessed, my father and their son were good when they guessed and also on the wagers, but their father and I had at least three correct answers.
and poverty will come upon you like a robber,
and want like an armed man.”
Later we enjoyed pumpkin pie and pecan pie;
both were also available as gluten-free.

‘Tis the Season for Soliloquy

‘To copy and paste to share,’ I try to not make a habit. When I do, I am sometimes unfriended the next day by someone who praised me for doing so. Please feel to guess with which of these I agree: Cadence!
“I like having health insurance, so I took two minutes to call. Speaker Paul Ryan is indeed holding a phone vote on whether we should keep Obamacare, and I called and voted my support for the ACA. Real political results come from writing, calling, and nagging our legislators, and I encourage you to call and vote! This took me under 2 minutes.

Millions of Americans rely on Obamacare for health insurance. House Speaker Paul Ryan is currently conducting a phone survey on who supports the ACA (Obamacare). You don’t have to speak directly to anyone, just call, and after the recorded message, press a number to indicate your support of ACA. Let’s flood the survey with support.

Call (202) 225-3031 or (202) 225-0600.

Stay on if you get dead air. It takes around 90 seconds to connect to survey. Once it picks up, follow the prompts. If your call isn’t answered at first or it goes directly to the recording of ‘mailbox is full,’ wait 15 seconds and then try again. You will have to listen to a short message (<1 min) about the Speaker’s views on Obamacare before you vote.

Also, if you want to share this information, please copy & paste - do NOT share. Only mutual friends see a ‘share.’ (Author unknown--copy and paste if you choose.)”

I watched them turn their backs on every opportunity to open worthwhile dialog. I watched them say that they would not even listen to any choice for Supreme Court no matter who the nominee was. I listened as they openly said that they will oppose him at every turn. I watched as they did just that. I listened. I watched. I paid attention. Now, I’m being called on to be tolerant. To move forward. To denounce protesters. To ‘Get over it.’ To accept this... I will not. I will do my part to make sure this great American mistake becomes the embarrassing footnote of our history that it deserves to be. I will do this as quickly as possible every chance I get. I will do my part to limit the damage that this man can do to my country. I will watch his every move and point out every single mistake and misdeed in a loud and proud voice. I will let you know in a loud voice every time this man backs away from a promise he made to them. Them. The people who voted for him. The ones who sold their souls and prayed for him to win. I will do this so that they never forget. And they will hear me. They will see it in my eyes when I look at them. They will hear it in my voice when I talk to them. They will know that I know who they are. They will know that I know what they are. Do not call for my tolerance. I’ve tolerated all I can. Now it’s their turn to tolerate ridicule. Be aware, make no mistake about it, every single thing that goes wrong in our country from this day forward is now Trump’s fault just as much as they thought it was Obama’s. That’s been happening. Terrorism? Definitely alive and well. Going broke due to health insurance? Mm yes. Corruption throughout the system? Already there. Are police officers being murdered? Yep, that’s happening. Bullying? Check. Loss of jobs? We’ve got that on lock. A tanking economy. Yep. Being discriminated against for your religion, political views, sexual orientation, race? That’s been going on. Rape, murder, violence, riots.. all going on and has been.

So tell me, what are you scared of that is not already happening basically everywhere? This isn’t a Trump problem, this is a people problem. Y’all need to reevaluate your own selves..

Maybe America is a little too scared and a little too easily offended.

Quit being scared, crying around, offended by everything.. step up and do your part as an American, no, as a damn human being. Treat others with respect, help and encourage one another, raise your kids right, be a contributing member of society. Make sure your hands are clean, that’s your job. Burning the American flag? Get out of here with that, how about you do your job to make it a better place.

But right now, all I see is hate. It’s disturbing, and the ones with the most hate are being exactly what they claim to be against.

This morning I was an hour late to my appointment, an outcome which could have been from it prevented had I simply put it in Google Calendar. Fortunately, I can learn from this; too often I have been thinking backward:
  1. I try to make a budget from what money I have available rather than plan how I will spend
  2. I dine out because I left no time to prepare meals, and end up short funded when I could have spent so little at the grocery store comparatively
  3. I say dates and appointments are important, but I don't write it on a calendar
