Document security awareness free shredding event is Sept. 6

“Audit and advisory and document services is sponsoring a free shredding and document security awareness event from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in CC107.

The purpose of this event is two‐fold: To raise the awareness of the college’s new shredding program with CINTAs and to give you an opportunity to dispose of your paper documents containing sensitive information.

During the event you will receive information about Cintas, what to shred, why shredding is important, controls that are in place, cut off dates, process for media destruction, locations for shredding bins, process for requesting bins and more.

In collaboration with Cintas and with support by JCCC Foundation this will be a one‐time opportunity for you to purge your old files from home. Your confidential documents will be destroyed on site, free of charge to you. For security, you will transfer your documents directly to Cintas to be shredded while you wait, with a limit of 5 boxes per person. Spend some time to gather your old bank statements, credit card statements and other sensitive information and plan on bringing them to this event.
