“Johnson County Community College has added three shows to its 2013-14 lineup of the Performing Arts Series.

RAIN – A Tribute to the Beatles will take place at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, in the Carlsen Center’s Yardley Hall. This live multi-media spectacular will take you on a musical journey through the life and times of the world’s most celebrated band. The Broadway smash will explore the vast anthology of the classics such as ‘I Want to Hold your Hand’, ‘Hard Day’s Night’ and ‘Let It Be’.

Jim Brickman‘s Celebration of the ‘70s brings together Brickman and his special guests at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Yardley. Joining Brickman will be Rita Coolidge, former teen idol Rex Smith (You Take My Breath Away); Motown legend Thelma Houston (Don’t Leave Me This Way); David Pack of the band Ambrosia (You’re the Only Woman) and ‘70s pop-icon Yvonne Elliman (If I Can’t Have You.)

The Church Basement Ladies will present A Mighty Fortress is our Basement at 2 and 7 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday, May 20, May 21 and May 22 in the Carlsen Center’s Polsky Theatre. The classic musical comedy features four characters who organize the food and solve the problems of a rural Minnesota church.

For tickets, call the JCCC Box Office or visit jccc.edu/TheSeries. Remember, JCCC employees can purchase up to four tickets for Performing Arts Series shows for half price. The special employee pricing is available in person or by phone at the box office, but not online.”
