JCCC celebrates International Education Week Nov. 12 to 15

“International Education Week is celebrated on campuses all over the United States each November. A joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, this week celebrates ‘programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.’

The JCCC community is invited to participate in the following events:
  • Monday, Nov. 12:
    • 1 p.m. International Education Week Preview, COM Lobby
    • 2 to 4 p.m. Asian Fall Festival, Buyback Lounge, first floor, SC
  • Tuesday, Nov. 13:
    • 9 to 11 a.m. Coffees of the World, COM second floor
    • 1 p.m. ‘Exploring Israel from Past to Present’ trip informational meeting, CC 332
  • Wednesday, Nov.14:
    • Noon, Neda Sarmast, ‘Nobody’s Enemy: Youth Culture of Iran’, GEB 233
  • Thursday, Nov. 15:
    • 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Celebration of Cultures, first floor lobby, CC
  • Friday, Nov. 15:
    • 2 p.m. International Roundtable Discussion led by LynnMarie Alexander, ‘Chinese Overseas in the Malacca Straits; A Snapshot of Today’s Peranakan in Singapore and Malaysia using Architecture, Food, and Custom as Tools of Cultural Revival’, GEB 264”

Parking limited in some garages Nov. 14, 15 and 16

“Parking will be limited in some garages next week. Planned closures are:
  • A total of 42 spaces in the south half of the lower Regnier Center garage will be unavailable from 7 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14.
  • The entire Carlsen Center lower west garage will be closed from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14.
  • A total of 24 spaces in the south half of the lower Regnier Center garage will be unavailable from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15.
  • A total of 24 spaces in the south half of the lower Regnier Center garage will be unavailable from 7 to 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16.
  • The entire Carlsen Center lower west garage will be closed from 7 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 16.”
