The opening credits to Captain Marvel features a montage of appearances by Stan Lee, who also makes an appearance with Captain Marvel, who smiles in reaction.
Captain Marvel was released on International Women’s Day, 8th March 2019, so there may be some cosmetic, no intended pun, elements that your mind may perceive as thematic.
Academy Award winner Brie Larson plays Captain Marvel. Samuel L Jackson returns as Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., and digitally has been made to look younger for the contemporary setting of 1995. Agent Coulson is back, and Jude Law is also there.
An artificially intelligent leader of the Kree civilization, the Supreme Intelligence appears as Annette Bening to the title character as portrayed by Brie Larson. Seen earlier in Guardians of the Galaxy, Djimon Hounsou returns as Korath.
