Handle with Care in Italian

Most people live lives of quiet desperation, not much between Despair and ecstasy,” which is never helped when I stay up two days in a row until four in the morning and wake up more soon than noon the next day. Yesterday at work was kind of a bummer.

8.3 naming convention

Dear Princess Celestia, I wanted to share my thoughts with you,” and explain the title, a Word of the Day from Dictionary.com - deadwood - (in writing) unnecessary words, phrases, or exposition:
Living on a Prayer,” which is something I should have referenced last night in conversation with a colleague yet I will totally remember to mention to him today at work, does not reflect my current situation. I mean, my weekend, and Monday, and Tuesday went well. I simply have two otherwise unrelated things to bring together.

I have to reach back twenty years, when AOL was more significant and a friend shared an image of Christy Turlingon, who was sleepy. At that time, one could name a file with eight characters, a period, and three letters for an extention, how an operating system knew what program to use to display the file; this was an 8.3 naming convention, so the file was called SleepyCT.jpg although do not matter,  I am adding them to emphasize.

The same person with whom I spoke in “Humor vampirism 032,” noted she was tired at the end of the day. “Aw, Christy Turlington is sleepy,” I later thought to myself. Although they could use help to make the convention a success, I am going to stand by my decision to not volunteer at Canterlot KC this weekend, since I have not seen Bennigan in three weeks and I am generally too tired on Saturday to be much use.

High and Low, Part Two

We’ve all got our own funny moods / That sucks!”
Being Scott Malkinson, I want to blame that condition alone, yet I went to bed too late, and I have not been eating right; these things make days at work more difficult, “And that‘s all I have to say about that.”
“For if, because of one man’s trespass,
death reigned through that one man, (Romans 5:17)
much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.”

Humor vampirism 032

I’ve made a life / Out of readin’ people’s faces,” well, not really,
yet I’d like to believe I can recognize sarcasm and playful hyperbole.
“Thirty-one to thirty! If they (The Kansas City Chiefs) don’t make the playoffs again this year,” removing her earbuds, “I’m going to quit this job,” she concluded as she stepped away.

Thursday night, the loss visibly affected my colleagues, yet I could tell what she said was said in jest, so I would later seize the opportunity to extract some humor from her remark; this night would be a win, for me, at least.

“I’ve never bet my decision to leave a job on the outcome of any sporting competition, but Sporting (Sporting Kansas City) hasn’t been a team for long either,” and I drummed on the desk to mimic a rimshot.

Stale zaniness 063

Tonight seats are being rearranged on the production floor so I will need to be courteous and patient. “Keep the screaming inside,” advised a coworker. Also, I have become somewhat attached to those who have sat close to me this last year, which bothers me more than any momentary chaos and stress.

Every Which Way but News 094

Literally, Why Can’t I Say
“Just think, in the last few weeks the Left has ruined the NFL, late night TV, and the Boy Scouts. In the last few years, they've severely damaged campus free speech and academic freedom, the private healthcare market, military readiness, and local law enforcement. Their judges have seized control over immigration, aspects of national security, and marriage. Meanwhile, the Left is increasingly violent (Antifa, Black Lives Matter, etc.) and the media are increasingly brazen in their leftist propagandizing and cheerleading. It seems to me the rest of us should be taking a knee to protest this insanity,” opines Mark Levin.

Day after day, I’m more confused,” and Being Scott Malkinson requires appointments to follow up with the semiannual blood tests.
The results were far from “Whirlwind weekend 008,” and I dispute gaining twenty pounds; I observed a difference of fifteen pounds later in the day. I am actually going to exercise daily, some day soon. I have resumed supplements to lower cholesterol.

As perfect a Thursday 053

Now, I’ve written a time or two about Being Scott Malkinson, for which I thought I had to have another appointment to get my prescriptions refilled, but this is not the case and the experience at the Walmart Pharmacy turned today around.
Yesterday, a colleague at work lost a sibling (something I understand well), and her absence at lunch led to a discussion about loss. We explored grief and reminisced about a film by Seth MacFarlane, A Million Ways to Die in the West.

When September Ends, High School Never Ends

Since I was late to the tour of the school, I wasn’t pictured in the Fieldhouse with the thirty graduates in attendance, one of them said she saw me Friday night at the game, so the experience I had was largely my own fault, which was in complete contrast to the wonderful experience at the Homesteader Cafe.
