Grove named president of Morton College

“Dana Grove, JCCC executive vice president, education planning and development and chief operating officer, has been named president of Morton College in Cicero, Ill.
‘Dana has been a great friend and valued member of the leadership team,’ said Terry Calaway, JCCC president. ‘He played an important role in the 2006-2007 transition and will do a magnificent job at Morton.’
Grove came to JCCC in 2005 as the executive vice president of academic affairs. Prior to that, he was vice president of academic services at Lincoln Land Community College, Springfield, Ill., director of the English/humanities program and dean of arts and sciences at Indian Hills Community College.
At JCCC, Grove oversees campus services, facility planning, information services, institutional operations and the JCCC police department.
Grove’s last day at JCCC is Jan. 11. He begins his duties at Morton College Jan. 22.”

“Kent Shelley, the all-time wins leader at Johnson County Community College, was inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Hall of Fame on Friday, Jan. 4, at the organization’s annual convention at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, Ill.
Shelley, also a 2007 NJCAA Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame inductee, will begin his 26th season as head coach of the Cavaliers in 2013, and his 27th with the Johnson County program. He has amassed an impressive 759-476-1 mark (614), as the Cavaliers skipper.”
