Wake Me Up, when September Ends

Tomorrow I will be at the Japan festival no earlier than 11 o’clock
“Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night.
Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

Daniel answered and said: ‘Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
to whom belong wisdom and might.
He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings;
he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding;
he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him.
To you, O God of my fathers,
I give thanks and praise, (Daniel 2:19-23)
for you have given me wisdom and might,
and have now made known to me what we asked of you,
for you have made known to us the king’s matter.’”

funny sad vampire

An image on Happy Halloween inspired the title to this post.
Also, two commericals on the radio bother me lately.
While they may have meant worldwide, they simply said 350 million suffered from depression, which equals the population of the United States, so basically everyone in this nation is depressed.

Another said we could experience excitement of the Rio Games in a Kia Rio. Seriously, they said that.
“Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased,
grace abounded all the more, (Romans 5:20-21)

so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Postscript to Experiment 644

Three friends on Facebook share brithdays today, which is not unusual, sometimes as many as five friends do, yet I know Chanté, Jessica, and Michael in person.
“Remember your mercy, O LORD,
and your steadfast love, (Psalms 25:6-7)
for they have been from of old.

When I broke from my usual format Saturday, someone liked my post, perhaps I should have yesterday, but I didn’t leave myself enough time to format the partisan diatribe the way I wanted.
Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for the sake of your goodness, O LORD!”

Debate Night

10 Awesome and Intelligent Things You Can Do Tonight Instead of Watching the Debate
“And whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them.
I kept my heart from no pleasure,
for my heart found pleasure in all my toil,
and this was my reward for all my toil. (Ecclesiastes 2:10-11)

Then I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had expended in doing it, and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind,
and there was nothing to be gained under the sun.”

Laundry Week in Review

Friday I was listening to Midday with Jayme and Wickett, and they returned from commercial with a truly awful parody where “First World Problems” replaced the refrain from “Zoot Suit Riot.” Among my first world problems, I will not be able to listen to the Jonathan Weir Show live again because I will be working away from a radio.
I always leave some stuff out, like Wednesday was the International Day of Peace, and I gave the world silence on my blog thus some peace. I’ve done laundry every day this week because the weather has been so warm I need to wear my lighter work shirt.
I learned two things from the Jonathan Weir Show:
  1. Weir and Rob Babcock will appear at the 10 o’clock show at the Kick Comedy Theater on Saturday night; they will be telling personal stories to inspire scenes for the improvisers.

  2. I really hope to be off work so I can see that show, but not the same way these people found themselves off work.

Here Comes the Sunday

Yes, this post is titled after a song by The Beatles, and I am reflecting on my last day at the new pizza place, which will be Sunday.
Last Saturaday was bad, and Wednesday was worse. Similar to my most recent time at Arby’s, I’m just tired of new management, “a Condescending Message from Hollywood.”
“One thing have I asked of the LORD, (Psalms 27:4)
that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.”

I was considering, “Wake up call for all,” yet email was from PEY-pal, not in THIS parallel universe.  :)
“For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. (Romans 5:19)”

Wake up, you need to make Money

“Wake up, you need to make money
at least until Sunday I got to tough it out, I really don’t like to work at the new pizza place, “It’s time to bring this ship into the shore / And throw away the oars, forever”
“If you will not listen, if you will not take it to heart to give honor to my name,
says the LORD of hosts, (Malachi 2:2)
then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings.
Indeed, I have already cursed them,
because you do not lay it to heart.”
