What-a-Mess

Almost twenty-five years ago, ABC Saturday Morning welcomed you “back to the show” with What-a-Mess, which describes my finances.
Medical insurance covered most of the cost for the ride in the abulance on 17th March, but I have more week than money, so I am taking off Thursday, the day before payday.

My family was streaming the final episode of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, which I’d neglected to watch, avoiding another TV program, a historic and interesting post from the past from Cadence appeared in my feed:

A friend whom I have known for fifteen years, Mike C. put out a call on Facebook for a ride to the Kansas City Fringe Festival.
“I would like to get to Union Station by 12 noon to pick up my volunteering materials (T-shirt). I will be working from 2 until 7 pm, all of it at the MTH theater at Crown Center.”
“As a freelance videographer and editor, being active in the community is required,” and Mike has volunteered at KC Fringe for the last eight years, so I felt more connected to this city having talked with him today.
“Finished with Fringe work. Now waiting out in front of Crown Center, agnostic beverage in hand.”

I was Captain Laser at Laser Rangers where we watched 3:10 to Yuma and True Grit on Saturday, and met Travis across town, I went to Jersey Mike’s Subs and visited Bennigan, I saw Josey at the pizza place Where the Streets have all Names, and Joshua and I started Steins;Gate 0

Much too Young (to Feel This Damn Old (Again?))

Three weeks from today I will be forty; that’s not what is making me feel old or keeping me awake this morning. It’s not even my sister making noise down the hall. It’s a worry.
March 17th someone hit the back of my car and drove off. I did not get much of a chance to read the number on the license, so my insurance has gone up. I followed the instructions of the emergency people and had them take me two miles to hospital, a ride which cost five hundred dollars, which for some reason was not covered in my explanation of benefits, and will go into collection probably next week, so I have to talk to someone, probably.

Around here, I realize a lot of those decisions are made as part of the Mid-America Regional Council, but a lot of the streetcars were taken out in the sixties and I haven’t had a chance personally to ride what currently exists from downtown to the River Market, but I guess if it makes Scott Parks happy, then it can’t be that bad.”

and the pond is a children’s inflatable pool, but my point is made.

European Vacation

Yeah, I am awake too early on a Saturday, listening to Dad Jokes Radio, and planning to meet Rated PG (he is a friend of Travis, sees a lot of movies, met a lot of movie stars (he has pictures), and those are his initials) for lunch at two o’clock so I cannot go back to sleep since we have been slowly planning this all week via text.

My sister and I have been getting along better and honestly, I continue to be the one who needs to change; that is just fact.

Monday into Tuesday, I was just trying to pull into Denny’s lot and park, but the yahoo in the left-turn lane behind me had the same idea and was following me too closely and seemed -- surprised when I drove over parking lines and began to reverse to park! I had to use the restroom, so I wasted no time on the way to avoid any problems.
Tuesday, a Kia Sportage tailgated me all the way to the department store.

Yes, forgot to mention Garfield’s birthday, “Garfield Minus Garfield,” whose character has vaguely inspired mine throughout the years, “Garfield’s Not Meant to Be Funny,” and forgot to initially include an image with “I’m afraid you’re just too darn Loud,” and forgot to change the titleJohn 8:36” from a passage of scripture.
