My father would have had a birthday today. The day before he passed away, almost three years ago, we listened to a cassette that had belonged to my youngest sister; I wish I could remember the song. I called my aunt, to whom I had neglected to speak for about six weeks. I moved the contents from drive-up storage to an indoor, climate-controlled storage unit two weeks ago. I had to leave a metal desk behind, which certainly stirred some emotions.

Whirlwind Weekend 072

More than ten years ago, when I started this blog, I happily wrote something every five days, then every day, then infrequently, and then not for a year or more. I have only first had a full-time job seven years ago, which has affected how often something new can be found here.

For those who might not know, I have been working at a new place for a different company in an entirely different industry since last January. My LinkedIn profile is dreadfully outdated, and I will not identify my employer on any social media since this headline, lest I be associated with the event, “Arby’s apologizes after employee refuses to serve police officer.”

The new company for whom I work has Good Friday as a paid holiday. Saturday, before I went to the home of Laser Rangers to watch Everything Everywhere All at Once and Top Gun: Maverick, from the Crunchyroll store, arrived Figma Yunyun, a character of whom I am featuring fan-made art! Much time has passed since I put any image of any action figures online.

The host of Laser Rangers also extended an invitation to dinner on Easter Sunday, and I am eternally grateful for the friendship and good times shared with his family. I am also remembering other posts with this title; it’s Rock ‘n Roll to Me.
