Here comes the Rain again 002

“Then Peter came up and said to him, ‘Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.’ (Matthew 18:21-22)”

Journey to happy Rock

I didn’t budget for Planet Comicon and I dislike crowds and situation with parking downtown (you have to pay money and you have to walk quite a distance)
Thankfully, a friend through whom I can live vicariously is operating a booth there.
I always say my excuses will outlive me.
I forgot that I had agreed to wake up early and miss the live broadcast of Pony to drive Ronni to the Northland, specifically Gladstone, today, so I’m too tired to make the Asian Cultural Festival like I said I would to Josh.
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:10-11)”

The Shipping News: Humor vampirism 030

See, it’s difficult in a business situation, there’s an invisible line, even if you are attracted to someone,” and I have rules; I don’t accept friend requests from coworkers or ask them out. Yes, if she’s in a different department, but that was twelve years ago and then I didn’t ask out a coworker until she left the job.

Curmudgeon 101

Tree trimming, inquiry from Dell, and other noises are making it impossible to return to sleep this morning so I may have to take Extreme Measures, meaning caffeine, and its most potent an absorbable form - - coffee
You’re calling because you’re concerned about my privacy and because someone has allegedly been accessing my email from Texas ... Paris, Texas?
I am way too tired for this; I said they could call me back in an hour, so I was going to go back to bed for an hour, which I tried but realized that was going to be futile, and I went to Hurricane Allie's instead, and rejected the call on my mobile.

Whirlwind weekend 036

Saturday night, I thoroughly enjoyed Ham Kitty and The KC Improv Company and something on the way home inspired me.
You know if the real life DuckTales was going to air on PBS that Waddell and Reed would sponsor it, right?

You know, because Ducks find themselves among the reeds and they waddle?

I was just guessing, and DuckTales is coming back this Summer on Disney XD
It was oh so good to hear the catchphrase from Josh,
“No? ...goddamn it, Chris...”

path of a Lightning Bolt

Last week, I was watching Top Gear and found out this week I was watching the last episode is in this current season, so an indie pop song from a Mini commercial inspires the title of this post.

Happy day of Mirth

Last weekend, new episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Doctor Who and Top Gear cheered me up; they’re also new this weekend, but I really need to see some Ham Kitty at the Kick Comedy Theater.
I’ve never liked Earth Day, I can never forgive its self-aggrandizing Word of the Day from Dictionary.com - green-collar - noting or pertaining to workers, jobs, or businesses that are...
These are troubled times in the galaxy, neither of these things sits well with me since my mother and sister have passed away: today is the day my sister Kimberly was born, there’s already ads for Mother’s Day.

Celebratory note 064

For two and a half weeks while her new position with a different company was on hold, our supervisor returned, but yesterday was officially her last day.
A woman of her word, she was caring, confident, genuine and led our team very well. The thing I will remember most, however, is when I would be leaving for the day and I would tell her humorous riddle which was so terrible she would simply say, “Goodbye, Chris!”
“Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;
let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:6-7)”

These Dreams by Heart

Last night, or this morning, whenever I was last asleep, I had these repeating dreams; one involved a large group gathering with a friend since elementary school and food (especially ham), and in the other I was trying to write some speech for a class and needed a video on the same cassette as a recording of an episode of ‘Walker Texas Ranger’, “The Road to Black Bayou
Thanks, but the Kansas City Royals had a double-play yesterday,
so a McDouble® is one dollar today / There‘s something out there / I can’t resist:

For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved,
but the one whom the Lord commends. (2 Corinthians 10:17-18)”

Of course, before I left this morning, I asked my father if he wanted a McDouble. He said no, but thank you. Friday is when they collect trash in our neighborhood, so I also asked if I had woke him up when I was taking out the trash last Friday morning.

“I don’t know,” he continued, “that was a long time ago, Chris.”

Being Scott Malkinson, I can only dream, “I drank Starbucks’ Unicorn Frappuccino and now I sparkle,” analogous to New Girl and truth about her to which I have resigned myself— she was wearing her hair down yesterday then, with rubber bands she found at work, had some trouble to put it up into a ponytail.
I said to her, “There’s no hairstyle you can’t make work,” or something similar— I’ll be damned.

“Thank you,” she replied, “but these bands are going to hurt like hell when they have to come out.”
Truly, women go through such work for the sake of beauty, and I really fail to appreciate.
Would have been weird if I had made a status update without context

Every Which Way but News 087

Open enrollment for fall classes begins April 26 at 9 p.m.
on the kerfuffle: Word of the Day from Dictionary.com.
Forget About Terraforming Mars. Here’s Why.
“For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have?
Do not even the tax-collectors do the same?
And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others?
Do not even the Gentiles do the same? (Matthew 5:46-48)
You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

Great news, your federal return was accepted by the IRS, yet their correspondence makes me feel, “The Income Tax Basically Implies that Government Owns You.”
Monday morning I finally copied some music to my smartphone,
and many songs are from Rhema and Integrity Music,

Tippin’s Gourmet Pies, Easter

“How does it feel to be sixty-six today?” I asked my father on his birthday.
“I’m tired,” he replied, “time for my mid-afternoon nap.”
We have all had a full day. I attended Easter service like I promised, and I misunderstood when my father and sister said they were going to pick up something from Hen House Market, so I got myself something from Walmart Neighborhood Market.

Ronni called me, and we ran some errands this afternoon ahead of her family gathering. The conversation with my father was after I returned home.

Why Do Some Americans Admire Putin?” an article from Intellectual Takeout got me to think about Epic Rap Battles of History, so I commented the relevant episode and watched several more, which promptly delayed this post.

Josh is working with a filming crew today, yet I suppose I could watch some anime myself, except I have the premieres of Doctor Who and Top Gear to watch from the DVR.

Again, what is it with you and Ponies?

Coinciding with the reveal at work,
one friend on Facebook again asked,
what is it with you and Ponies?”
Also, on days like Friday, I divorce reality due to irreconcilable differences and need to escape:
You know, only takes one or two things to make me feel defeatist -- like I’m failing, like trouble with the time clock at work, and missing a payment, and more month than money

Down the Road I go Time Marches On

This year, my father’s birthday is on Easter Sunday, so I will likely be attending services with him. I am also making tentative plans to visit my grandmother in two months.
And now some words from Professor Denton,
which are as applicable to Cards Against Humanity as Amy Schumer on Netflix:
  1. if you have played it twice you have seen what every game will be.
  2. Cards Against Humanity was designed for people without wit or personality to feel clever
Exactly. Almost people aren’t smart enough to why the words are funny they just want to hear everyone laugh at something they did.

Also, it enables people without balls to say racist, sexist, bigoted things without being accountable.

So you have to understand that playing a game designed for the mental defects and liberals to ‘walk on the wild side’ is totally cheapening yourself and burning dignity

We don’t play it because it’s boring and most of the people at my house can’t read.

Quit following crowds into liberalism.
“And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:11-12)”

Every Light in the House is On

First was Ronni (I am going to pass your business cards to co-workers, I swear), to whom I gave a ride to Desoto on Friday, whose birthday was Saturday, which we celebrated Sunday at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers.
I thought I would be disappointing Big Joe, who held a housewarming party yesterday night, where I could not be because I was seeing Skull Island: Rise of King Kong with Bennigan.
This was no issue when I went to pick up Ronni, Big Joe greeted me warmly and gave a well-rehearsed and well-presented tour of the house.

The basement is his space with room to display his posters, collections (swords, blades, and knives), and collectibles (Batman and Hot Wheels).

The backyard continues to be an ongoing project; recent rains delay planting in the garden beds, but weeding has been easier, and newly installed window screens on a building in November show progress.

I don’t know but I’ve been told Fireball and Apple Pie Piehole Whiskey make Cards Against Humanity a fun drinking game.
Bennigan and I saw Kong: Skull Island and were blown away: Man of Steel beats Avengers. Later, we hung out at Bennigan’s to watch new My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, and Saga of Tanya the Evil.
