“The multi-event portion of the NJCAA Region VI Indoor Track and Field Championships concluded Thursday at JCCC Fieldhouse with a pair of Johnson County athlete posting victories. Sophomore Shawn Laruent won the men's heptathlon with 4,488 points scored, and freshman Brooklyn Meinke topped the field in the women's heptathlon with 3,096 points, setting both school and Fieldhouse records.

The main portion of the men's and women's championships run Fri.-Sat., Feb. 21-22, at Anschutz Pavilion on the campus of the University of Kansas.”
