Can’t Keep a Good Man Down

“Okay. To life, the universe, and everything, I’m a year older than you.”
Friday after work, I learned only the front right power window works in my car functions, so I let that bring me down a little (again, something the other three switches are not doing for the other three windows). “Signs a Man Has Low Value,” well, reminded me of more than one truth. I lived this day on my terms, watching YouTube and finding the delightful TRDQ - Gavin Spence (Transformers Reviews Done Quick) among which I was seeing advertisements because I was watching through the smart tv in the common area instead of Brave browser. I enjoyed an afternoon nap, and later watching the arguably best episode from ’Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ similar to the weekend of the Fourth when I was also feeling down and felt better after ODDTAXI and So I’m a Spider, So What?

“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return,
and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Highest,
for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.
Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. (Luke 6:35-36)”

The Night Before (Laundry Day)

Much has changed in my life over the last year and I have been reviewing my actions and concluded:
Morpheus: No, what happened, happened, and couldn’t have happened any other way.
Neo: How do you know?
Morpheus: We are still alive.

“So faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17)”

“I wanna tell you something, Mark, something you do not yet know, that we K-PAXians have been around long enough to have discovered. The universe will expand, then it will collapse back on itself, then will expand again. It will repeat this process forever. What you don't you know is that when the universe expands again, everything will be as it is now. Whatever mistakes you make this time around, you will live through on your next pass. Every mistake you make, you will live through again, & again, forever. So my advice to you is to get it right this time around. Because this time is all you have.”

Margarita Paranormal: Muttley! Do something!

A little more than twenty-five years ago (my senior-high English teacher would insist that I spell out all numbers less than one hundred), I first used the Worldwide Web. Some who have known me since those days, and even before, might say in different words that I have peculiar proclivities or affinities, yet I find myself in good company. Like many of the brony fandom, I recently discovered “Bizarre But Really Well Animated Horse Cartoon - Guardians of Pondonia,” which is rotoscoped and features animation similar to Warner Brothers and elements of classic Hanna-Barbara; the characters accept reality as presented, all are treated with respect, and none was written as an idiot.
Anyone who has known for some time has and might ask, “What is it with you and cars?” or “Again, what is it with you and Ponies?” Even those who have known me for a while might not know about the amateur art and comics, penned for mostly my own enjoyment from eighth grade through twelve years ago, yet rarely shared with anyone for fear of criticism and I never made the transition to a digital artist. I combined characters and events from The Transformers, Back to the Future, and Disney’s Oliver & Company, Aladdin, and Talespin.
Dōjinshi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
“Dōjinshi (同人誌?, often transliterated as doujinshi) is the Japanese term for self-published works, usually magazines, manga or novels. Dōjinshi are often the work of amateurs, though some professional artists participate as a way to publish material outside the regular industry.”

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.
For fear has to do with punishment,
and whoever fears has not been perfected in love." (1 John 4:18 )”

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,
teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom,
singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
with thankfulness in your hearts to God. (Colossians 3:16)”

Reflections of

When one is home day after day, recovering from injuries and unable to work, the days can tend to blend together and one can lose perspective. For many years, I have battled depression, and questioned my worth, finding little value to others, yet today was a day that reminded me in small ways about the significance of life.

My mother, my father, and youngest sister passed away in recent years, and my surviving sister contacted me Wednesday about getting their cremated remains to me; this task was accomplished today in the briefest and most neutral way possible, I had no real opportunity to invite her to stay for any length of time to visit about any kind of reconciliation or any kind for which I might have been hoping. Whether forced or subtly implied, any secondary agenda is not a successful way to make any progress in a strained relationship. Having weekly conversations with an aunt and an uncle on my father’s side, I had some support before my sister visited today; I can be kind and not belittle myself or perceive this as a failure.

Among “Memories in the Mist,” my father’s passing is many, and six weeks before he passed, my father expressed some displeasure with my lack of progress, basically Hoarders; it was a Wednesday morning, my sister was home for spring break, and took it upon herself to just start bagging things up and dumping them outside, where the dogs and weather could damage them. We had a dispute.

Last year, I moved out from my parents’ house and moved many items into storage space at my former apartment complex, and had them moved into climate-controlled storage. Stuff continues to be an issue between my roommate and me, but he and another friend are willing to help make some progress this weekend.
