Before I left to get some Burger King (I want you to get into the deep beautiful melancholy of everything that’s happened: Manic Pixie Dream Girl), my father, my sister, the puppies and I were watching Elizabethtown and I thought to myself, “What if this is as good as it gets?”

“Sadness is easier because it’s surrender,” a different perspective on my professional life which I have ultimately deemed an utter failure and a story which resonates on the birthday of my youngest sister.
