Before I delve into speculation, opinion, or cliché, I will remind you; Robert Ebert Hated, Hated, Hated This Movie: North. A titular character sits bewildered in a French theater where all patrons were laughing hysterically to Jerry Lewis.
HISTORY was likely where I heard that the Japanese soldiers were told that typical American soldiers were like Abbott and Costello in comedic films. Likewise, Professor Denton says Portlandia represents what typical progressives are like; Life is different in Canada, and I find Oregon less hilarious.
