Postscript to Experiment 037

A good friend hosted a House Warming / Peanut Butter & Jelly Keg Party! Because the event left over beer and sandwiches, my feeling is that the experiment went well.
To which at least two additions are been made, his house is seventy-four years old in the oldest part, and he concludes that no other house had the same sized footprint for the price. His two cats primarily live in the sun-room, which is the youngest section a mere twenty-five years old. Doors to the sun-room are sliding glass, so Matthew has, in effect, created an animal exhibit.

Well, such a film could not be called The Sixth Element, because that is a Lamborghini.

Bring the Beat back 013

Ever since the CD player in my car finally failed, I have begun to appreciate more music, although David Rushing has been another means to this goal, the radio is my main source. After the meeting of the Anime Club of JCCC, today I returned to the 75th Street Brewery, where I have not been in a month.

“Parking will be restricted in some JCCC lots and garages this week. The times, dates and lots affected are:
  • 20 spaces in the lower Regnier Center garage will be closed from 7 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10.
  • The Carlsen Center lower west lot will be closed between noon and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.
  • 78 parking spaces in the lower Regnier Center garage will be closed between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.
  • 42 parking spaces in the lower Regnier Center garage will be closed between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13.”
In 2004, after Denton’s previous improv troupeBetty Ford’s First Project” was disbanded, I took in an improv show at the Carlsen Center, part of the Performing Arts Series at Johnson County Community College. That troupe had done their homework, which led to cheers from the audience:
“Thank you for staying with NPR on KCUR, and not tuning to The Rock.”
By Dire Straits, “Sultans of Swing” ended before I had realized that I had tuned from 98.9 The Rock! to Alice 102. I might take off tomorrow from my blog.

Have Suzumiya Haruhi, will travel 010

As I perceive, my weekend starts on Friday, yet I work for part of Saturday and am fully off Sunday and Monday. Monday evening remains the domain of Top Gear on BBC America, and I was up quite late in to early Monday morning. Unfortunately, I have not taken any time today to catch up on the most popular of currently airing anime series: Attack on Titan.

Whirlwind weekend 014

Otherwise active socially, Wednesday, August 14 was my last good conversation with my sister Pamela, and personal isolation from my family is generally my own fault.
Friday, the birthday of the president of the Anime Club of JCCC, we celebrated at Loose Park and later at the Winstead’s on Shawnee Mission Parkway.
Winstead’s Steakburgers
“The Winstead’s tradition began in 1940. Today we still serve the same Quality Steakburgers and Authentic Fountain Treats. Served in our 50s Style Diner Setting. We offer breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between! Good old fashioned table service or use our Drive-thru!”
Afterwards, I went to the home of Denton, where they had made some gumbo. After work on Saturday, I returned to the home of Denton, and we watched Mother Night on the Netfilx.
Mother Night (1996)
“Directed by Keith Gordon. With Nick Nolte, Sheryl Lee, Alan Arkin, Bernard Behrens. An American spy behind the lines during WWII serves as a Nazi propagandist, a role he cannot escape in his future life as he can never reveal his real role in the war.”
Tonight, at the home of Aaron, I am watching the New York Giants play the Dallas Cowboys at the Cowboys Stadium in the Metroplex.

it’s Rock ‘n Roll to Me

In Egocentric Universe: Whirlwind weekend 013, I had gone to see Everclear - Live - Filter - Sponge at Summerland Tour 2013, and 101 the Fox - Kansas City’s Classic Rock Station had given away tickets for Déjà Vu (feat. tribute bands) at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater on September 7, 2013, which is tonight.

While I have six tickets, I really do not want to pay for parking, when I would rather impulsively spend to satisfy my palate rather than my digestive system, which may often deplete financial resources almost as soon as they are acquired.
I heard that on the radio yesterday, yet I can't remember on what station, and I was sure that Cobain was only singing, “Mary,” which is odd because I was en route to Loose Park to celebrate the birthday of our beloved Anime Club president, who shares the name.
“4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared,
5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness,
but according to his own mercy,
by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs
according to the hope of eternal life. (Titus 3:4-7)”
