“You’re invited to hang a star in honor of a veteran or military service member on the JCCC veteran/military service honor tree in the lobby of the Student Center. The tree will be on display through the month of November.

To hang a star, write the name of your honoree on one of the stars, pick out the color ribbon that best represents that person, loop the ribbon through the star and tie it off then hang your star on the tree.
  • Choose a white ribbon in memory of a family/friend who gave/lost their life in service
  • Choose a blue ribbon to honor a family member or friend who is serving
  • Choose a yellow ribbon for general support and thanks to all veterans and service members
  • Choose a black ribbon in recognition of someone who was a POW/MIA
  • Choose a purple ribbon in honor of Purple Heart recipients
  • Choose a red ribbon to honor a JCCC student or community member currently serving or who is a veteran”
