JCCC is again ranked among top digital community colleges
“Johnson County Community College is again listed among the top-rated community colleges for digital technology by e.Republic’s Center for Digital Education. JCCC was also top-ranked in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

The survey looked at digital and emerging technologies, such as the use of mobile devices and technology integration into the curriculum; strategic planning and data management; and delivery models and professional development, including the availability of technology tools and training for faculty and students, as well as colleges’ technology priorities, shared services and cloud computing; infrastructure and networks; and outreach and workforce development.

The survey showed that 92 percent of the colleges have expanded their distance learning offerings online, while 77 percent have increased online student services. Survey results also show that 95 percent are now using social networking to reach out to students, and 79 percent use YouTube, up by 14 percent from 2011.

‘Our faculty, staff and administrators find innovative ways to use technology in and out of the classroom to improve teaching, learning and student support,’ said Terry Calaway, president, JCCC. ‘Our consistent presence among the top-rated colleges reflects how seriously the college regards the use of technology in education.’

JCCC was listed among the top colleges in the large college category (10,000 students or more).

“Last year, the JCCC women’s cross country and track program captured its first Region VI triple crown, winning titles in cross country, indoor and outdoor track. This year, the cross country team cleared the first hurdle in a quest for a second triple crown by winning the Region VI Cross Country Championships, hosted by JCCC. The Lady Cavaliers edged Allen Community College by three points to claim first place. The JCCC men finished fourth overall.

Three Lady Cavaliers finished among the top 15 finishers which earned them All-Region VI honors. Jessica Thomas led the way placing sixth with a time of 19:38.1. Also in the top 15 were Emily DeLong at 10th place (19:51.8) and Michala Ruder at 14th (19:57.3). The JCCC men had just one runner earn All-Region VI. Summary of Improv Goals 027

If one was to “walk around the left side of the building, and to the Underground Theater in the rear of the lot” on the evening of Friday, October 5, then one would have seen one of our best shows in Lawrence to date.
My personal highlight was my character Jane; she always referred to herself in the third person, and the final scene of the last set was Jane and a questionable doctor.

I said, “Jane burns. Jane burns below.”
Our shows alternate weekly between the Underground Theater and the ECM at KU, where we were last night and the audiences have been full for our last two shows. The opening set featured John, Frank, Joel, David, Justin and I. Kaden Koharrick, a guest group from Colorado Springs, played second; and the ensemble One performed last.
The ensemble One plays at the ECM
In regard to the short-form games, in which I played, John remarked,

“I wouldn’t change a thing about that set.”

“JCCC is hosting the League for Innovation’s StemTech Conference which begins Sunday, Oct. 28, and ends at noon Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Scores of faculty and staff have volunteered to work at the conference, and the college is truly grateful for their efforts.

Because of the number of volunteers, some services on campus may be affected. This will be especially true in Information Services. Please be patient if you experience service delays, and know that the JCCC employees volunteering for StemTech are advancing the good reputation of the college.”

Last year, the women’s basketball team finished 32-3, was ranked No. 1 for 15 consecutive weeks and won the East Jayhawk Conference title with a perfect 18-0 mark.

Under the direction of Ben Conrad, the Lady Cavaliers have completed three straight 30-plus win seasons, accomplished by just one other coach in Kansas Jayhawk Conference history. As perfect a Thursday 008

Thursday, I awoke earlier than Friday, yet I still left home at about the same time. Friday morning, according to Kansas City’s Morning News, the sky-way’s jammed; two injurious accidents slowed traffic on south-bound I-35, so I wisely took an alternate route, and found breakfast at McDonald’s.

My first propaganda poster for Lyra Heartstrings.

On Thursday, I took my car to Waterway® Gas & Wash Company and had the interior cleaned. As a consequence of that action, my payment to Citibank will be another thirty days late. On Friday, I skipped the meeting of the Anime Club of JCCC, and I took advantage of this offer at the 75th Street Brewery. After a nap, I met my sisters and some of their friends at Arby’s. Later, at the home of Denton, we watched the German film 7 Zwerge, which is 7 Dwarves in English, is available on Netflix, and is honestly the most funny thing that I am seen in much time.

We apologize 012

  • A total of 25 spaces in the south half of the lower Regnier Center garage will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25.”
Because time is slipping away, we apologize for the lack of updates. I have a forthcoming post about Friday. Saturday and Sunday will be covered in another post, and afternoon naps make fools of us all.
I hated TRAFFIC this morning. On the bridge, two Ford trucks with trailers needed to cross four lanes of Shawnee Mission Parkway in order to turn left to access the interstate, about which I should be thankful because their required wide berth gave me room to cross two lanes to turn left myself.
An officer had stopped someone on the right, so all three lanes had to slow and watch; I exited the highway to re-enter on the other side of the 75th Street bridge.
The Overland Parkway was not so bad, but when I was exiting, a BMW was in the lane to turn left, then decided to turn right at the last moment.
“Craving Tots and Cheese? Stop by SONIC today and enjoy a medium order of Chili Cheese Tots for just $.99! Please mention text. Limit 2. Valid 10/22 only.”
As I approached that last traffic signal, the Chevy Equinox at the end of the long second lane finally noticed the inside lane was available, and almost caused a crash with me. All of this might have been fine, except that I was already late for work, and then I still had to go back to my car for the breakfast sandwich that I had left behind.

On stage at the same Time

To explain the absence of any post yesterday, I will recall the last line from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, as heard as I left of home of Denton last night, “Amp vs. amp? We’re going on stage at the same time?”
I now have every pony for my story between Princesses of Night and Day

While slow on the uptake, I often receive new ideas through sudden insights. I realized in American history in high school, “They take several chapters to describe events that happened at the same time,” which may have also happened recently on this blog.
After work on Monday, I was en route to the SureWest Customer Center, so I went to Danny’s Bar and Grill for lunch. Later, I made my payment at Verizon Wireless. My mother will return home today, but I napped for two hours before my visit with her yesterday. Before the home of Denton, I had dinner at the official Hardee’s® restaurant on Metcalf, where they apparently remodeled last year.

This is a Dynasty

For the first time in many days, I listened to Pandora,
and one of the songs was “This is a Dynasty” by Kaskade.
Sometimes I wish Friendship is Magic was a darker, grittier show with serious topics and fights. Until then, I guess I have to settle with fan-art.
“Red Bull’s amazing 24 mile plus Stratos Space Jump just came to the exact conclusion that everyone wanted. Austrian Felix Baumgartner just touched down in Roswell, NM after going to the edge of space in a balloon and jumping out.”
The Hub aired “The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000” and “Bridle Gossip” on Saturday, and “Swarm of the Century” and “Read It and Weep” on Sunday. Because I was at ComedyCity, and forgot to set the DVR, I missed Bleach on the Adult Swim last night.
As their bare breasts touch, Arrancar and the former Tres Espada Tier Harribel and Arrancar Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck ask you to like the Offical Bleach Page.

Here comes the Rain again

A music duo now disbanded but known to reunite from time to time,” the Eurythmics say, “Here comes the rain again. Is it raining with you?”
Vinyl finally makes her appearance. She works as a radio host and DJ, reporting on a spot of news here and there but otherwise broadcasting jazz and swing
Storms Moving Through…Severe Chances
“Well the night was loud for a couple of hours and now the late AM is wet as a batch...”
On BBC America, I have just begun to watch my fourth hour of Star Trek: The Next Generation, so I have been distracted while writing this post. I have yet to today visit my mother, and I am going to Holy Cow’s Last Show at Improv Thunderdome: Championship 10.

Shadows of the Night

Part of Regnier Center garage closed Friday
Something obviously went wrong. It's another scene that was cut from episode.
“The entire south half of the lower Regnier Center garage will be closed from 6 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12.”
“Be honest with me, guys, if you’re really just Keanu Reeves in disguise, you all should re-blog this,” quotes DannyBrony’s tumblr and schtuff, and while a transcript of the debate between Vice President Joe Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan is provided by NPR, let us hear from The New American Magazine, which I perceive to be moderate and possibly libertarian.
Paul Ryan Sinks Himself in VP Debate With Joe Biden
“Paul Ryan spoke clearly during the vice presidential debate but failed to articulate any substantial differences between the Republican and Democrat tickets. By Thomas R. Eddlem”
Knight is speaker for Oct. 12 Noon at the Nerman discussion program
Not really sure where I was going with this one. This was more of an experiment than anything else. I knew for a fact I wanted to try a slightly differed...
“Lisa Knight, adjunct professor, English, and Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art docent, is the speaker for Noon at the Nerman discussion program at noon Friday, Oct. 12.

Knight will discuss Leo Villareal’s Microcosm. (2007, white LEDs, custom software, electrical wiring and hardware: unique/site specific installation, collection Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, 2007.71).

Participants should meet at noon in the lobby of the Nerman Museum and will walk to the artwork from there.

Noon at the Nerman is a weekly interdisciplinary program examining works of art on view at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art or on campus. Students, staff and visitors will gather at the Atrium at noon on Fridays then walk to one of the artworks on campus or in the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art to hear a JCCC faculty or staff member speak briefly on that work of art.

It’s free, and no reservations are required.

Interested in presenting? Contact Allison Smith, professor of art history.”
My Way News has a FACT CHECK: Slips in vice presidential debate. In truth, reactionary partisans may be doing all the same things over and over again: republicans say, “Biden Unleashes Torrent of Vomit on Debate Stage,” and democrats say, “Ryan Chugs down Rhino Horn and Bull Semen Shake for Mid-Debate Boost.”

Where I will become partisan, one criticism of Biden was about his laughing at the issues, to which the Campus Liberty Alliance refers with the following passage:
If a wise man has an argument with a foolish man, the fool only rages or laughs, and there is no rest.

Bible Gateway passage: Proverbs 29:9 - Amplified Bible
“If a wise man has an argument with a foolish man, the fool only rages or laughs, and there is no rest.”
Although I appear strong and unaffected by criticism, underneath, I am actually quite moody and emotionally vulnerable, and my political supportrises and falls like the sun,’ so when I went to visit my mother, I was pleased to again hear my personal anthem for the campaign for Romney on 105.1 JACK FM.

This morning, another observation may also be made:
I have had more time by which to blog.
