BRZ, FR-S, FT-86

Kitto I must disclaim that this post contains excessive expository statements, which includes the preceding. Whether a book, a comic, a film, a toy or a video game, material from other media are often adapted for TV, e.g., Initial D was first a Japanese comic book, and later adapted.
Initial D - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Initial D (頭文字(イニシャル)D Kashiramoji (Inisharu) Dī is a manga by Shuichi Shigeno which has been serialized in Kodansha’s Young Magazine since 1995. It has been adapted into a long-running anime series by OB Planning, Studio Comet, Studio Gallop, Pastel, and A.C.G.T, and a live action film by Avex and …”
I like the car driven by the protagonist in Initial D, so I sayHachi-roku,’ like Cartman from South Park says ‛Sega Dreamcast.’
Toyota AE86 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The AE86 generation of the Toyota Corolla Levin and Toyota Sprinter Trueno is a small, lightweight coupe introduced by Toyota in 1983 as part of the fifth generation Toyota Corolla lineup. For the purpose of brevity, the insider-chassis code of ‘AE86’ is used to describe the whole range. In classic …”
On the Top Gear USA Fan Page, I agreed that the Honda CR-Z is not even a spiritual successor to the classic CR-X, but such a comparison can be made about FT-86 in relation to the AE86.

Years ago, General Motors sold some of its interest in the following company to another partial shareholder, Toyota.
Fuji Heavy Industries - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
“Fuji Heavy Industries, Ltd. (富士重工業株式会社, Fuji Jūkōgyō Kabushiki-gaisha?), or FHI, is a Japanese transportation conglomerate most known for being the manufacturer of Subaru automobiles.”
An example of a Subaru automobile is pictured below:
Subaru Impreza WRXFollowing the purchase of a majority share in Fuji Heavy Industries, Toyota now considered further partnership with Subaru, which resulted in the following:
Tokyo 2009: Toyota unveils FT-86 Concept, keeps mum on details
“We got a sneak peak of the FT-86 earlier this month, and now Toyota has just officially …”
Toyota USA created the Scion division in 2002. In all honesty, neither the line from Toyota nor Scion excites me, so I was pleased to see this article last spring:
Scion FR-S Concept Exposed
“Bringing back the enthusiast’s Toyota.”
The above is not linked from Autoblog.com, where one of my favorites is this road test: HSV GTS vs. FPV GT-P; these products are unique to the Australian domestic market, where the products of General Motors in Australia are by Holden, and likewise Ford products are by Ford of Australia. Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) and Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) are the divisions for the development of automotive performance, or in-house tuners, of these respective companies, and are analogous to the M division at BMW or the Special Vehicles Team (SVT) at Ford.
Subaru Tecnica International - Wikipedia
“Subaru Tecnica International (スバルテクニカインターナショナル株式会社, Subaru Tekunika Intānashonaru Kabushiki-gaisha), or STi, is Fuji Heavy Industries’ motorsports division. STi, along with Prodrive of the UK specializes in the preparation of a variety of vehicles for the Subaru World Rally Team which competed in …”
With the exposition now clear, let us speak about the present:
Subaru BRZ Concept STI: Almost the real thing
“Subaru’s opening its kimono at the LA auto show today, revealing the Subaru BRZ concept STI for the first time. That's the concept car on which the company's oft-mentioned ‘Toyobaru’ BRZ rear-wheel-drive compact sports car will be based.”
The BRZ, FR-S, and FT-86 are basically the same car.
